Using a Web browser such as Netscape, continue your research into the company you have decided to study for the semester. Remember to use on-line newspapers and magazines and on-line library references to find:

• whether that company holds a competitive advantage or disadvantage in its primary industry, where it has most of its sales
• how the company stacks up in these areas of competitive advantage:
  • efficiency
  • quality
  • innovation
  • customer responsiveness
• what the company's distinctive competencies are
• what barriers exist to discourage imitation of your company's distinctive competencies
• what effect previous and current strategies have (had) on the company's distinctive competencies
