DAMA - the Data Management Association - is an international not-for-profit affiliation of local and regional chapters around the world consisting of thousands data management professionals. The DAMA Mission is:

"To promote the understanding, development and practice of managing information and data as a key enterprise asset"

I've been a member of the National Capital Region Chapter since 1993 and am currently an International Advisory Board Member. I was awarded the International Achievement Award in 2001.

I have been elected a member of the founding board of the DAMA-Central Virginia (DAMA-CV) chapter. I hosted their original web site and Data Blueprint is sponsoring their new site (thanks to IDR Associates Macy Lau, David Allen & Anthony Danielsen).
