Here are some interesting facts about the history of DAMA …

  • The first DAMA meeting was held in Los Angeles, California at a restaurant in the spring of 1980.
  • The first DAMA Day was called Executive Day.
  • The letter and mailings were hand written and/or typed by Arnie Hook and his wife, Margie. Arnie is still an active member of DAMA.
  • The DAMA International logo was created by the Los Angeles Chapter.
  • The second DAMA Chapter was chartered in San Francisco.
