A list of Standard Abbreviations for use in data element names.
Abbreviations used in Data Element Names must be taken from the list of Standard Abbreviations The Class Word, or last word in a Data Element name (e.g. CODE, AMT NO), must also be abbreviated with its Standard Abbreviation. If other words in the Data Element Name must be abbreviated in order to fit the COBOL 30-character limit, abbreviate the words, starting from the rightmost word, working towards the left, until the name is thirty characters or less. The Enterprise list of data abbreviations has been stored in an Excel spreadsheet can be obtained by clicking here.
A Repository to:
The first step toward the development of a repository has been realized in the creation of the db trader File Inventory Matrix.
The matrix identifies the complete set of REFSYS files for investment banking with a "file type" column that differentiates between data files (D), index files (I), work files (W), and unknown files (unknown). The matrix also identifies the functional area that owns the file
